Reflections and Looking Ahead

January 7, 2022

Now that 2021 has come to a close, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate and recognize some of the achievements of our talented staff. Despite myriad challenges met by the entire industry last year, we accomplished several firsts.

Our team deployed the world’s first automated land rig – PACE®-R801 – which has been drilling for ExxonMobil in the Permian Basin. This has generated a lot of excitement and serves as an example of how technology and collaboration can lead to safer, efficient and more responsible operations.

Kudos to the PetroMar and Downhole Engineering groups for the innovative design of a new Measurement While Drilling platform, the BlueForce® MWD Pulse. Multiple improvements give this tool the edge and means our customers receive improved reliability, efficiency and performance.

Through our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts, we launched four new employee resource groups focused on the engagement and development of our staff.

As importantly to highlight are the steps we made to lead in the energy transition and to extend our leadership position in the evolving energy services business.  Among those initiatives, we welcomed three leading edge geothermal companies as partners to advance technologies and projects globally.

Now we enter 2022 with renewed excitement and ambition. By focusing on talent, technology and transition, we aim to drive sustainable outperformance, create enduring value for our stakeholders and innovate the future of energy.
