Nabors' wholly-owned subsidiary, Canrig Drilling Technology, Ltd., manufactures, markets and services a full range of portable and fixed configuration top drive systems for installation on most land and offshore drilling rigs. We offer top drives in 275, 350, 500, 650 and 750 ton capacities. All top drive sizes are available in A/C configuration.

ADVANCED DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE (ADS): Utilizing the extensive computing power of the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that controls the Canrig Top Drive, the Advanced Diagnostics System (ADS) monitors strategic points of the top drive unit and its associated control and power system.

Instead of reporting problems or deviations from normal operating parameters (usually done via indicator lights), the ADS makes intelligent assessments of a malfunction and reports the possible causes in plain language to the operator.

DIRECTIONAL STEERING CONTROL SYSTEM (DSCS): The DSCS has demonstrated the ability to save our customers time and money during drilling operations.  It achieves this by increasing total on bottom drilling time, sometimes by as much as 15 percent, and by significantly improving sliding performance.  These accomplishments are the result of two unique functions, Oscillation Control and Tool Face orientation.  For more information, please reference our DSCS Product Bulletin.

REPAIR SERVICES: Our team of trained and experienced technicians perform the following repair services on top drives:

• Initial inspection and repair estimates
• 1,000 day inspections and associated repairs
• Complete top drive unit overhaul
• Product upgrade installations

INSTALLATION AND REAPPLICATION: We maintain a dedicated team of engineers and technicians solely for the purpose of ensuring a perfect interface between the drilling rig and the top drive. This team can reapply existing equipment to a different rig or perform initial installation of the top drive.

TOP DRIVE TRAINING PROGRAMS: We believe user-training programs can improve our customers' profitability by keeping each Canrig Top Drive System running at maximum efficiency. To that end, we offer a variety of training courses covering top drive specific mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. These courses allow our customers to tap into our extensive product knowledge and experience and learn how to operate and maintain their top drive systems in the most efficient manner.
