Canrig Drilling Technology
Nabors’ wholly-owned subsidiary, Canrig Drilling Technology, Ltd., manufactures and markets a full range of top drives as well as floor wrenches, catwalks and rig control systems. The company also offers a range of intelligent accessories including advanced diagnostics, equipment conditioning monitoring, traveling equipment and anti-collision systems.

Through its merger with Epoch, Canrig now offers a full line of drilling data, analysis and reporting systems and software. This includes myWells.com, the company’s internet portal that allows rig data to be monitored anytime, anywhere.
Canrig is committed to drilling efficiency and safety. Recently the company developed K-Box, a product that adds best-in-class drilling instrumentation, IADC tour sheet reporting, anti-collision controls and auto-drilling capability to older generation rigs, making them more competitive with new technology.
Developing new technology is a key component of Canrig’s marketing philosophy. The company developed Rockit, a state-of-the-art directional steering control system which orients the tool face more effectively when slide drilling. Rockit is especially effective in horizontal drilling operations like those most frequently used in the various shale plays that make up much of today’s drilling market.
Canrig’s customer-driven engineering complements the company’s commitment to developing new technology. It is built on responding to customer needs and has resulted in such breakthroughs as the floating quill, pipe profiler software and the folding torque guide.
Service after the sale is an integral part of Canrig’s relationship with our customers. It is designed to optimize the investment made in Canrig equipment. It includes assigning service coordinators to each customer and more than 100 around-the-clock service technicians. Canrig service is why so many older Canrig products are still functioning effectively.
